GORAKHPUR: Chief Minister Yogi AdityaNath said the efficacy and significance of India's ancient medical system Ayurveda was accepted worldwide during the corona pandemic and stressed the need for continuous research and development in the field.
Addressing an event at Guru Gorakshnath Institute of Medical Sciences (Faculty of Ayurveda) on Monday, the CM said, "The world accepted the efficacy of India's ancient medical system Ayurveda during the corona pandemic, as it helped defeat coronavirus. The promotion of Ayurveda would increase medical tourism, employment while medicinal farming would also get a boost and exports would strengthen the economy. There is a need for continuous research and development in the ancient medical system."
It is an inspiring moment as the first Ayurveda college has started in the pious land of Mahayogi GorakhNath, he added.
"We need to take this medical system to new heights. This land is also famous for Yoga as Maha Hathyogi Guru Gorakhnath started a practical system of Yoga. PM Narendra Modi worked to get international recognition for Yoga and now the world celebrates Yoga Day," Yogi said. "Proper research and development in Ayurveda were lacking due to inferiority complex in the past, but the world accepted the efficacy of Ayurveda during the pandemic," he said.
