To strengthen presence in online distribution channels

Consider this. Nearly 7 out of 10 people in the country suffer from gut-related problems, such as constipation, indigestion, gas, piles, fatty liver, due to sedentary lifestyle plus poor eating habits. While for those residing in the metros and other big cities, the easy way out is to pop over-the-counter (OTC) allopathic medicines, their efforts to tap alternative health options like Ayurveda remain unfulfilled.

“There is no gut specialist digital end-to-end solution available where holistically you find certified Ayurevdic doctors, clinically-tested gut specific products and further personalised after care programmes to completely heal you,” Mukul Shah, founder & CEO – LifeChart, told fe. According to him, current available options are only a few generalists D2C brands that offer third party manufactured products.

Shah founded LifeChart in 2021. This Gurugram-based holistic gut specialist brand is pushing for the wider adoption of Ayurveda. “It is an alternative medicine and holistic wellness platform that caters to the overall wellbeing of individuals. We are developing patented technologies to streamline the Ayurvedic diagnosis process, scientific clinical trials, and assist patients in recovering from various mental, chronic diseases, along with special attention on men & women holistic wellness,” he said.

Shah’s inspiration from his mother’s battle with Type II diabetes fueled his mission to provide a unique solution for common gut problems like constipation, indigestion, and fatty liver.

What sets LifeChart apart is its modern approach. “Backed by modern technology, we have created an instant, affordable and accessible platform where customers get everything related to alternative wellness by one-stop solution right from diagnosis to specially curated care management programmes by our specialist Ayurvedic doctors,” Shah said.

The healthtech startup deploys modern technology to instantly connect people with certified Ayurveda experts through their app, social media, or website. With a vast network of 500 doctors and 30 health buddies across India, the company has already aided an impressive 150,000 patients.

“We are proud to connect customers to Ayurveda doctors instantly within 60 seconds via AI-based technology. We provide products formulated by our doctors, which are clinically-tested, followed by disease recovery and patient care management programme, all under one roof,” Shah said. The company also has a strong presence on social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, and customers can connect with doctors through these mediums.

Lifechart offers doctor consultations digitally and also offers doorstep delivery of products. The platform charges a consultation fee at affordable rates, ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 20 per minute. Its clever AI system learns from patient-doctor conversations, anticipates future health needs, and crafts innovative gut health products.

Going forward, LifeChart is looking to launch more stock keeping units (SKUs) under gut health category and strengthen presence in all online e-commerce distribution channels in coming months. Shah said, “We are super bullish on tier 2 & 3 market of India which itself is a $1 billion massive total addressable market. These areas are devoid of basic and modern healthcare infrastructure, and with our LifeChart E-clinic-on-wheels, we will bridge this gap by providing door-step testing services, doctors availability along with quality products at door steps, where currently doctor-to-patient ratio is below average. The endeavour is to bring access to quality Ayurveda to the masses at an affordable price.”

Additionally, LifeChart is also planning to open doors of its Ayurvedic doctors consultation app for countries like US, UK, Japan & Middle East “as we are getting huge interest from these markets,” said Shah.

“In 2022, we raised around $200,000 in funding with prominent names such as Nitish Mittersain (founder of Nazara Technologies), Sunn 91 Ventures, and Expert Dojo (US-based VC) participating in the process. Currently, we are in the process of raising a seed fund of Rs 8 crore funding and the ongoing process has witnessed participation from the likes of Marwari Angels and government seed fund scheme among others,” he informed.
