Kozhikode: Panchakarma therapy facilities will be set up in the Ayurvedic dispensaries located in tourist spots with the aid of the National Ayush mission. Online booking will be made available for tourists. Tourists staying in resorts near to the dispensaries can avail services including massages as an Out-patient procedure.
In the first phase of the medical-value tourism project, resting rooms, resort, and panchakarma theatre will be set up for tourists at the Kaanom Ayurveda dispensary in Kodenchery panchayat. Ayurvedic dispensaries such as Omassery, Kattippara and Arikkulam will provide treatment through the Ayurkarma and Panchakarma theatres of the National Ayush mission.
A feasibility study for boating therapy named ‘Ayush nauka’ will be completed next year under the aegis of the Vedic department to provide necessary treatment to patients in isolated villages in Beypore, Feroke and Kadalundi areas.
Ayush mission state director Dr D. Sajith Babu visited the AC Shanmughadas memorial ayurvedic child and adolescent care centre in Purakkattiri that offers ayurvedic treatment to differently-abled children. He reviewed the progress of the developmental works carried out there at a cost of Rs 1 crore. He said that new therapy units will be sanctioned here.
