Lucknow: While presenting the annual Budget, the state govt on Monday announced establishment of a Panchakarma training centre for Ayurveda students at the State Ayurvedic Medical College and a dedicated research centre for Unani medicines at the Government Unani Medical College.
With an investment of Rs 21 lakh, the Panchakarma centre will be equipped with modern facilities and offer a comprehensive curriculum encompassing theory, practical training, and clinical experience. This will ensure quality training for future practitioners, revitalizing this ancient detoxification practice.
Besides, a research centre dedicated to Unani medicine will be established at Rs 1 crore to assess the utility of Unani medicines in various chronic diseases. Research findings can provide evidence for its efficacy and meningkatkan public acceptance and credibility. “Standardized practices and protocols can also be established, enhancing its integration with mainstream healthcare,” said Unani institute director Abdul Waheed.
