People's Movement: Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav Unveils 11th Ayurveda Day Campaign
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush and Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Prataprao Jadhav, announced that the 11th Ayurveda Day 2026 must evolve from a state-supported event into a national health communication campaign and citizen-led movement.
Addressing a curtain-raiser press conference at the National Media Centre in New Delhi, the Minister announced that the main national event will take place on September 23, 2026, in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The official theme for this year's nationwide campaign is “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow” (‘स्वस्थ भविष्य के लिए आयुर्वेद’).
The campaign launch connects traditional knowledge with modern clinical metrics, aligning preventive health strategies with the broader national vision of Viksit Bharat.
Three Pillars Guiding the 2026 Campaign
Outlining the strategic roadmap leading up to the main event in Nagpur, Minister Jadhav highlighted three core guiding pillars for the campaign:

Integrative Healthcare for Better Health Outcomes: Combining the strengths of traditional medicine with modern biomedical science to create collaborative care models.

Evidence, Research, and Innovation in Ayurveda: Prioritizing scientific validation, pharmacological studies, and reproducible clinical trial data to drive global acceptance.

Ayurveda for Community Wellbeing and Sustainable Living: Embedding preventive routines (Dinacharya and Ritucharya), daily nutrition, and natural lifestyle practices into households, schools, and workplaces.
The Minister called on media networks, educational institutes, and healthcare organizations to actively address public misconceptions and bring evidence-based traditional wellness insights directly to young generations and rural communities.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur, detailed key events planned alongside the campaign:
National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards 2026: Honoring eminent traditional scholars, researchers, and clinical practitioners for lifelong contributions.
Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs): Release of standardized clinical guidelines focusing on skin disorders to unify practice across Ayush health centers.
Medicinal Plant Safety Dossiers: Publication of scientific safety profiles and monographs for high-demand botanical formulations.
Ayush Vision 2030 & Sector Reports: Strategic policy roadmaps detailing workforce development, industry growth, and academic benchmarks.
This nation-wide awareness push aligns with ongoing transformations in Ayurveda education, where academic centers increasingly bridge traditional texts with translational clinical research.
Supported by executive guidelines from the Ministry of Ayush, the nationwide campaign seeks to embed traditional preventive care into modern public health architecture.
