During his visit, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha interacted with the doctors and patients at the Ayurvedic Medical College to enquire about the healthcare facilities available at the hospital.

In an effort to expand healthcare facilities, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday said the government is planning to open Ayurvedic and Homeopathy medical colleges in the state.

Saha made the announcement during his visit to the Ayurvedic Hospital at Paradise Chowmuhani in Agartala.

“There are plans to explore the possibility of Ayurvedic Medical College here (Agartala). Our secretary has given a letter. So, we are looking into it,” Saha told the media.

During his visit, Saha interacted with the doctors and patients at the Ayurvedic Medical College to enquire about the healthcare facilities available at the hospital.

“The Ayurvedic hospital itself has a long history. People have high expectations for the hospital. There are 50 beds here but more patients are coming here. I came to see the overall situation to consider what can be done with the old building,” he said.

“Additionally, the state government is planning to launch a Homeopathic Medical College in Renter’s Colony,” he added.

Notably, over the last few years, the Ministry of AYUSH has taken several initiatives to promote Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathy in the country.
