DEHRADUN, Dec 11: Uttarakhand, the land of spirituality and wellness, will serve as the center for shaping the global future of Ayurveda. The World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo 2024 will host an International Assembly over three days, beginning December 12th, to discuss strategies for the worldwide promotion and integration of Ayurveda.
The Ministry of AYUSH has established AYUSH Chairs in various countries, and representatives from these global centers will gather at the Congress to engage in discussions aimed at expanding Ayurveda’s reach across the world. Delegates from countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Argentina, Sri Lanka, Germany, Canada, and many others, will participate, making it a truly international gathering with approximately 40 to 50 delegates.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played a pivotal role in strengthening the global advocacy for Ayurveda, positioning it as a vital part of India’s cultural heritage and modern wellness solutions. The event will provide a unique platform for global stakeholders to exchange ideas and develop new strategies for the widespread promotion of Ayurveda.
This year, Uttarakhand makes history as the first Himalayan state to host the World Ayurveda Congress. While previous editions of the Congress have been held in various cities across India, this is the first time that a state in North India, besides Delhi, has had the honor to welcome this prestigious event. Uttarakhand’s hosting of the Congress adds to the state’s growing recognition as a hub for Ayurvedic research and practice.
Commenting on the event, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “Hosting the World Ayurveda Congress is a significant moment for Uttarakhand, which has always been a land rich in Ayurvedic wisdom. With Prime Minister Modi’s global initiatives for promoting AYUSH, we are confident that this Congress will mark a turning point in Ayurveda’s global journey.”
